Panelization & V-grooving

Dear frnds,
I am working as PCB Design Engg. & worked upto 10 layers multilayer boards. Now first tm I am working on one board in which panelization is required.I saw some reference pcb & gerbers files.I have some doubts abt this :
1) For panelization we have to do pcb designing in normal way only & in gerber viewing softwares like CAM350 or Gerbtool etc. we have to use Panelize funtcion..am I right ? what r the precautions we have to take as pcb designer for panelization ?
2) What is v-grooving & are there any guidelines for it ?
3) What is the importance of Wave-flow direction & what precautions we have to take as pcb designer...I just saw one board in which last pins of both sides of smd ic are having large pin area then others..those were first pins in the direction of wave...is it true ? are there any other guidelines for this ?

Discuss those questions with the technical manager at the board assembly shop. Different shops have different equipment and techniques. By making their job easier, your cost may go down.
 

I recommend you have your board house do the panelization for you. Ask your assembler first what they want, then relay that info to the board house. Most board houses will panelize the PCB for you.

Ask your board house for design rules, then stick to them!

I.E. keeping tracks away from board edges.
hole to hole spacing, hole to board edge spacing etc.

If you keep to the design rules then there is usually no problem when panelised.
