Dear friends,

Thank you very much for your time. I have a question: How can I export my Antenna from ADS layout into ADS schematic as a component? (I simulated the antenna in Layout and now I want to import it as a component in schematic section.)

And another question:
In Layout section is there any way to improve the accuracy of plotting? I mean is it possible to give the dimensions with numbers? (like hfss or CSt) or not?
Because drawing a complicated structure, like FSS, is very hard in ADS.

Thank you again.
Best.

ads format schematic

Hi

To make a component from your layout structure:

In the layout window select Momentum->Component->Create/Update
There will be a lot of options. When done, you just go to the "Display Component Library List"(Button with the Books on the shelves:))

No ADS is not very easy to use, when you want to make really precise and odd shapes. Maybee this is improved in the new 2008 version???
But I used to make my difficult drawings in AutoCad and then import it into ADS using DXF-format.

Regards

Dear tyassin,

Thank you very for your help.

Another question:

How do you draw an ARC in ads and hfss?
I tried both ADS and HFSS, but couldn't find any accurate way.

I need this to design a DC-bias network.
I have two choices: 1) design low and high impedance network 2)using radial stub to isolate the dc bias circuit from RF network.

In my opinion, the radial stubs are better.
Because low impedance lines have wider size and this would result in higher modes.

About this network and also drawing arc in ADS and HFSS, I would be very glad to hear your comments.

Thanks.

what is ads schematic

Hi

In ADS there is a radial stub component, which you can use directly in layout.

what is a antenna radials lay out look like

Dear tyassin,

Thank you very much for your help. I am on it.
Any idea about the dc isolation circuit?
I am simulating a quarter wavelength stub with radial stub in order to make a filter for my dc supply.

Best.
