Hello,
I need a programmer circuit For P89V51RD2.
I am going to use Flash magic software For programming the device with Serial port.
Can any one give me the Circuit diagram for Programming the MCU P89V51RD2?

I have seen that forum.
I think there are problems with Reseting the device.
Also, There is not any connection for PSEN.

Can You Give me Circuit diagram with some Description..?

p89v51rd2 microcontroller

vmax, the schematic provided by FlashMagic is perfect, I have used the same circuit to program P89C51RD2, P89V51RD2, 89C669 etc. I provided two swithches, one for RESET and one for PSEN, P89V51RD2 does not require PSEN, I am using this for years without any problem.

Added after 1 minutes:

I have implenented that Circuit diagram.
The reset window is appearing.it is not get vanished.
For how much time Reset window should appear?

I am not getting device programmed.

There are extensive helps for solving ISP problems on the FLashMagic forum site, as the first sticky post in the P89V51RD2 cathegory and the link therein. I have posted the links in your thread there, too.

flash magic + 89v51rd2

When the reset window appears, reset your target controller, make sure you have selected the 89V51RD2 (I am assuming this is the controller you are trying to program), select lower baud rates in the FlashMagic window initially, and ensure that you have downloaded the latest version from FlashMagic website.

If I can recall, I had implemented the schematic from FlashMagic, but I added the level control chip, such as the MAX232, and the switches.

As wek suggests you will get extensive help from FlashMagic website.

microcontroller p89v51rd2

There is a gotcha in newer versions of FlashMagic: you need to DISABLE the DTR->reset option, if you don't have the "automatic-reset" hardware! (Options -> Advanced Options -> Hardware Config -> Use DTR to control RST tickbox)

p89c51rd2 isp program circuit

Hi guys. I am designing a programmer for the P89V51RD2. Now i am going to program the microcontroller using the Rx, Tx pins only. Since im not goin to use PSEN should i leave this pin floating or connect it to +5V or GND?

hi all i m trying to program p89v51rd2 controller with flashmagic but i m not able to program it.it gives error as reset the device in isp mode now..even if i reset that window does not disappear ..plz can anyone provide me the circuit diagram for this..

thank you ctownsend for your reply i did changes in my circuit according to the diagram given by you except all capacitors around max232 which are 10uF instead of 1uF.but still i m not able to program my ic.i m compiling my code in keil compiler tell me which include file i must include for p89v51rd2.if possible plz provide small hello program.
 

are you actually programming the micro controller?
or

is flashmagic giving you errors?

try using hyperterminal at a low baud rate (like 9600)

send an uppercase "U"

if it echoes back, your programmer is working, the micro controller has successfully entered boot mode
 

Actually when i try to program my uc using flashmagic i m getting massage as reset the device in isp mode now. but even if i reset this window doesn't disappear.i have tried loop backing using shorting the rx and tx pin and I m getting response on hyper terminal. does erase all erases bootloader in 89v51rd2?
if i use include file of 89s52 for p89v51rd2 does it work?
 

hey thanks for help. I changed my controller and i m able to program my controller now.....
 

hey guyz!! do you need a reset switch and alongwith it unchecking the "Use DTR to control RST" in the advanced options of Flash Magic...
Plz reply soon..
