hi all,i prepare thesis about reflectarray,if any body interested in it,we can share our ideas
regards

Hi abdoeng, I'm preparing a thesis on reflectarray too. I see that your message was posted the last summer, did you finished it?
I'm analyzing a reflectarray based on anular ring patch geometry. I'm having some problem simulating with HFSS v. 11. Which software did you use?
I look forward to hear from you soon,
Alessandro

Hi

You need to simulate each cell separately, to find the phase delays (arg S21). Draw the cell and place in into an apropriate boundary condition (Open, for the case of CST). After that, you may model the whole reflectarray.

The feed antenna can be modeled alone, and its far field can be imported into the reflectarray, so that the simulation takes not that long.

I would go for CST MICROWAVE STUDIO instead of any other tool, since the whole structure may be too big to be handled by Finite Element tools.

wish you luck!

hi Alessandro, thanks for ur question.no i just try to understanding the theory of john yuang of reflectarray.i already simulates some cells very well in cst and ansoft designer.i hope help u
mpero, could i make isotropic source in cst,if yes all my problems solved
regards

Hi Abdoeng

I havent simulated it, but it does not seem to be so hard...

hi mpero,how r u
did u interewst in cst?
i have cst2007b.could u upload ur cst file of ur omnidirectional elemet here,it may helped
regards

@adgoeng
@cicocicobum
Can u please give a brief detail of your idea

Abdoeng

I added the 2006b zip file - I hope you can open it. In case you cant just email me, we can find another way.

Good luck and have fun!

mpero

Hi all,

I am now designing a reflect-array with Ansoft designer. However, I have an encounter with the problem of bandwidth. Anyone could tell me how to improve the bandwidth?
I would highly appreciate your assistances

hi,
now i doing my final year project. can anyone help me how to design a circular polarization for reflectarray antenna..

TQ..

sure
it so easy using microstrip cross dipoles or cross slot

thanks abdoeng...

i would like to ask u how about if using stub matching connected to patch element??is it easy??

yes
if u use two stubs conntecing tp patch with one n X direction and one in Y direction but with differ length which equal to 90 degree phase

thanks a lot abdoeng..

i will try it,,but now i have to similar with CST software.do you knw how to design it using CST software??thanks again..

yes,i use 2009 CST in simulation

can u send me an example of simulation that you have done it..

now totally i have no idea what should i do or how to start my project.is it to do the calculation or design??thanks,,

i don't have that model
i only use DRA cells in reflectarray design

thanks for ur reply abdoeng..

how to design a reflectarray antenna using cst?

Hi abdoeng, : )

Did you try to scan the main beam of your DRA reflectarray away from the broadside direction for certain angle?

Thanks.

what u mean by scan?u mean scanning beam that i use active components ?or u mean by any beam with any theta and phi
up to now,i only get fixed directed beam
