Can HFSS deal with ultra-wideband(UWB) Radar Simulation?
In the experiment a pulse generator is connected to TX antenna like attached image.
Can pulse generating be realized with HFSS only? Or need other software?

Hi

HFSS - like any other Frequency Domain Solver - uses time harmonic excitation of the type exp(jwt), sinusoid. So it cannot simulate directly pulses or other signals in time domain, as required by UWB antennas. It is computed indirectly, by means of a transfer function, but its an indirect way to get what you need.

The alternative is the use of a Time Domain Code, like CST Microwave Studio. You can excite the structure directly with your pulse, and you can even see the fields (near and far) in the time domain.

hope it helps:D
