HI,
Please can anyone suggest me a circuit to generate a -ve pulse of duration 1.5sec.

ya U can use a ckt consist of
1. multivibrator using 555
2. RC timer ckt
3. inverter

What is your -ve voltage is less than -16 Volts then

use the 555 but connect [555 VCC] <-> GND and [555 GND] <-> -ve
