hi

what is "etch" and "anti-etch" in Cadence Allegro?

-a trace?
-a boundary of an object?
-plane-split is anti etch?
-copper-layer objects?

how to set component-pads to be seen filled. now those are just boundary-lines. and vias?

Etch is a TRACE or connect line on electrical layer.

Go to Setup>Drawing Options, Display Tab.
Select filled pads.

Regards,

M

Allegro has a comprehensive set of flash tutorials - you need to search for them (.swf) file extension. Using the help utility is useless. Anti-etch is a negative plane split or keep-out - etch is positive copper - Clines are traces.

Etch is the reoute or trace or track to make electrical connection

An etch is a electrical line or area used to connect two points or group of points.
Whereas antietch is used in the place where we do not need this electrical material
to be present. This also can be used in plane spliting to seperate two splits of different voltages. Hope this helps u.

ok. thax.

these cadence names are strange. other people call this as trace or wire...
