Why spatial multiplexing is only occured, no coding in BLAST(Bell layered space time) system .. Can you please give some information about BLAST and SISO systems....

In spatial multiplexing, the system uses channels to transmit different data and symbols for increasing data rate. Therefor, spatial multiplexing is available in BLAST codes.

BLAST is a scheme which utilizes the spatial dimension to increase the throughput of a MIMO system without space-time coding at the transmitter, i.e. the transmitter transmits independent signals from every transmit antenna at the same time and in the same bandwidth. If a system employs space-time coding then the signals from transmit antennas are combined in a specific way to improve the imunity of the signal against interferences.

Since the signals get mixed at the receiver, each signal from a transmit antennas experiences interference from other antennas. To resolve this problem, the BLAST system employs a successive interference canceller (SIC) receiver. This receiver will first extracts the strongest substream from the received signals, then proceeding with the weaker signals, which are easier to recover once the stronger signals have been removed as a source of interference.

Actually, each transmit signal may be from an output of a channel coder to improve the performance of the system.

SISO system is where you have one transmit and one receive antenna, so you won't have spatial multiplexing.
