I have 2 chips of lets say similar spec both wanting to run at the same clock speed.

The data sheets suggest xtal to OSC1 and OSC2 and then taking OSCO as an output and passing that to the OSCI, all well and good but does this need a modification to the OSC settings when programmed? I mean it must be possible to power 2 chips from one clock without messing about with firmware settings, any suggestions on how to run 2 chips from 1 clock (xtal)?

Cheers

2 PIC's one Tick

Ive encoutered this issue before. I think teh solution is you need to put a buffer on the clock for the second chip. The downsides are additional component and board space, which makes impratical than to have both chips have their own clocks.
