zener diode peak current

Hi.

In my circuit I used a Zener diode. When I simulate it, it pass 1A for just 5ms in Vz=20v.
Can I use a 500mW Zener diode for this circuit?
If no, which specifications should it have?

This should give you some ideas ..

zeners with lower voltages has lower current in your case I think they should be able to at least sink 100mabut 1a seems abit much
