inbuilt memory in xilinx fpga

Dear friends,

I need to use Xilinx device XC2VP7 , my confusion is about built in memory: as in data sheet, Feature regarding memory describes that:

Block SelectRAM+ Memory
The block SelectRAM+ memory resources are 18 Kb of
True Dual-Port RAM, programmable from 16K x 1 bit to
512 x 36 bit, in various depth and width configurations.
Each port is totally synchronous and independent, offering
three "read-during-write" modes. Block SelectRAM+ memory
is cascadable to implement large embedded storage
blocks. Supported memory configurations for dual-port and
single-port modes are shown in Table 2.
Table 2: Dual-Port and Single-Port Configurations
16K x 1 bit 4K x 4 bits 1K x 18 bits
8K x 2 bits 2K x 9 bits 512 x 36 bits

PLEASE ANY ONE CAN GUIDE ABOUT HOW MUCH BUILT IN RAM IS AVAILABLE; I DONT WANT TO USE CLBs TO CONFIGURE AS MEMORY BLOCKS, I NEED TO USE BUILT IN MEMORY AS MY LIMIT BUT DONT KNOW HOW MUCH RAM IS AVAILABLE? ANY ONE GUIDE ME HOW TO GET THIS INFO FROM DATA SHEET FOR XC2VP7;

BEST REGARDS,

Mirza

Hello,

U ve only 18 KB internal RAM, Remaining things are just configuration modes.

Its means that this available memory can be of different page and word sizes..

Hope this clarifies!!

Virtex-II Pro data sheet:
**broken link removed**

Page 2, Table 1, column "Block SelectRAM", says the XC2VP7 provides 44 blocks of 18 kilobits each, for a total of 792 kilobits.

The table says you can also get 152 kilobits of distributed RAM, but that would consume CLBs.
