is just like a bridge broken from the center so that the trafic cannot flow simillarly in an open circuit the cuurent cannot flow and vic versa for closed circuit
or we can also say that
open circuit= infinite resistance
closed circuit=zero resistace(short.!)
Open Circuit (OC) means no return path for the current and infinity resistance, while short circuit (SC) means there is a rturn path for the current and if there are no other resistances present then it shows zero (practically very low) resistance.
