software defined radio with gnu radio rapidshare

Hi all
My final project topic is SDR, I have searched the net very much, but most of the projects that I found were incomplete, some in software and almost all in hardware section. Please help me in this problem, any suggestion on what should I do, and anything that may help me, I am really confused!!!
Thanks.

What is the goals of your project?

Um..., It is better to say that I want to design something like USRP, but a simple one!
Thanks.

and you want to use this GNU Radio?

Have you seen books about Software Defined Radio?

What is your main problem, the hardware?

Added after 7 minutes:

maybe you should use an FPGA or DSP evaluation board, it depends on what you prefer. And then you just have to design the RF front-end and the softwares

Thanks for quick reply.
Not GNU radio, my main concern is the hardware section and indeed the RF front-end, I have read a few books but most of them are theoric no practical circuit and... .
Thanks.

for the RF front-end I think you can get informations form any RF and wireless book, for example: practical rf circuit design for modern wireless systems vol 1-2

Thanks, I downloaded the book you suggested, I am going to read them, if you have any more information please help me!!!
Good luck.

you should see the IC companies about solutions: maxim, freescale, TI... and the application notes. There is many integrated RF front-end solutions

have you checked this book:

Rf And Baseband Techniques for Software Defined Radio by Peter Kenington

Added after 4 hours 6 minutes:

Sayre: Complete Wireless Design

There is another book about SDR :"Digital Synthesizers and Transmitters for Software Radio" by JOUKO VANKKA

Thanks eric_ec_chen
Can you uplaod it in rapidshare.COM or provide me a direct link?
Good luck

Dear hrhgroup

i has been upload to the badongo
The direct :**broken link removed**

Can you uplaod "practical rf circuit design for modern wireless systems vol 1-2" it in badongo or rapidshare

Thanks!

Hello

If you are doing SDR, I would suggest to buy a designed RF card for your PC, I remember there is some doc files in the GNU SDR about it. This is because, this is already a mature topic, and as I see the things, the idea of SDR is to meke the radio in "software" rather than hardware. I dont know if you have previous experience with hardware and how long you have to complete your project, you may run out of time without really doing the SDR part.

good luck

Sal
