is this possible that lan between two pcs which is 100m apart .
using cat5 lan cable directly.
if not then what is the solution

network pc-pc 100m

I do belive that it's posible to conect those two pc's to a hub or a switch (wore case scenario the 100m = 50 + 50 meter's betveen the hub and each of the pc) :)

Re: network pc-pc 100m

100m is the limit. Try it. It might work, but if not, then you'll have to amplify using a hub (10Mbps) or a switch (100Mbps)

Re: network pc-pc 100m

Hi, CAT5 10Mbs is designed for 250meters maximum !. So 100meters is no problem

network pc-pc 100m

if the above solutions are a problem in terms of resources you could always go for a better cable like cat6 or cat7. just be sure you get a twisted pair

Re: network pc-pc 100m

Hi manish.

The maximum distance that you can get using cat 5 without the use of hubs or switches is 100m

i connected 2 pcs (100 m apart) without using any switches or hubs, and it give me a good result.

Good Luck :)
