Hi,

I am a PCB designer. I am using PADS PowerPCB 3.0.What's for the ipc.org website actually for? I don't have a clear idea about it.

Help me to understand.

IPC is an association of various industry players including designers, board manufacturers, assemblers, suppliers and OEMs. IPC comes out with standards, guidelines, technology and industry reports and also has training initiatives. As an example you can get IPC's standard component footprint guidelines, mounting guidelines etc.

There are quite a few IPC documents on the eDonkey network, Use the eMule client to search.
