While simulating a very simple R-C circuit to test tools setup correctly,
I chose Spectre as simulation host, and when running simulation, it was aborted and displays the following error message:

Code:
Command line:
    /usr/local/cdstree/tools.lnx86/spectre/bin/32bit/spectre -env \
        artist5.1.0 +escchars +log ../psf/spectre.out +inter=mpsc \
        +mpssession=spectre0_6675_2 -format psfbin -raw ../psf \
        +lqtimeout 900 input.scs
spectre pid = 7053

Simulating `input.scs' on linux at 5:37:38 PM, Mon Feb 12, 2007.

Error found by spectre during hierarchy flattening.
V0: Waveform type must be specified if any waveform parameters are given.

spectre terminated prematurely due to fatal error.
See attached image..
What can this error be due to?
Thanks,
Ahmad,

It's better to upload the *.scs file or the stimulus you simulated.
It seems that the V0 is something wrong.

if u use vsin,u can replace it with vsource and try it again

V0: Waveform type must be specified. it should be DC, PWL,

it's seen that the Pb comes from ur netlist
try to verify all ur inputs
why u do not use ELDO as simulator ELDO is better than spectre

Thank you all for replies,
But i wanna to clarify somethings..

When i changed simulation-host to be SpectreS instead, it worked fine...

No problems with schematic...

I don't have license for Eldo ... Moreover, i don't know if it can work from Cadnce or not..

I didn't attach the schematic to any tech. file ... as i didn't install the PDK yet,

Anymore comments?

Thanks,
Ahmad,

You can generate the netlist and check whether the VO is correct or not.

I got the same problem and it solved when I use vsourse instead of vsin & also solved when I used spectreS simulator instead of spectre simulator only

Thanx for this informations :D

SpectreS is different than Spectre (actually worse than it, and less features)!

Moreover, you can't always use SpectreS to solve the problem..

Anyway, I left the Vsin source V0 as it's, but changed it properties to have 0 DC Voltage, as well as certain Amplitude and frequency (in my case i took them 100m V and 10M Hz as an example, but it don't matter), I was missing the DC Voltage, when i added it, it worked fine even on Spectre simulator without errors..

Also, notice that for components you used in your circuit, u r using their Spectre view (default is symbol view).

Thank you all for participation.
