Microcontrollers and GSM projects(remote process control)

Dear friends,

I want information about the interfacing AVR micro controller atmega8535 with for sending and receiving the messages through microcontroller unit via mobile phones in order to decode the sms and do necessary process control in the device interfaced with the micro controller. If anybody have any information about the above topic then help me.

blue tooth can also be used for this purpose. as far as i know microwaves and some door locks operate in same frequency band as of bluetooth.

You need the GSM modem. I think that is controlled over serial bus. It can programmmed through AT commands.

I have done a project on this MCU is different but process and logic can be same . For this you need to have a gsm modem/mobile which support AT command . In terms of hardware it should have TTL/RS232 port for serial communication . You can learn AT commands by connecting two such modem to hyperterminal of computer . You can try to dial a no send SMS receive SMS in hyperterminal . Once you are confident in it try to do ,whatsoever you have done in hyperterminal ,same thing using serial port of your MCU using your own software and compiler . After this you can customise it for you application and list of probable application is very large . I used SIM300 gsm module with RS232 port Bascom compiler and P89C51RD2BN mcu. I hope you will find my line of action useful if yes please acknowledge .

Hello everybody,


I would like to know how to connect my GSM module (SIM300) to my microcotroller (PIC 18F4525) ??. I have to command the GSM module so that it dial a number if an input of the PIC 18F4525 is activated, aslo the SIM300 should be able to activate a relay (in the outputs of the Microcontroller) by AT command ?
