I am looking for some good information on creating, theory behind it, praticallity of chasis and earth ground. I have seen how it is done in some cases but i dont understand the purpose of it. I also dont understand how to properly create a chasis or earth ground. Please post any good ebooks e articales , anyhting that i can get some great information from. Thanks. I apperciate all the help.

I saw an interesting article about creating a good earth ground reference a couple days ago.

In some cal lab they dug a deap hole to the water table, filled it partially with rocks, and then put their ground rod in their. Then they filled up the hole and this whole thing was supposed to keep a better contact with the earth through all types of temperatures and humidities. I didn't read the whole article because it was incredibly boring....but that seemed extreme.

Here at my lab, we just stuck a giant copper wire deep into the ground (i think around 10ft or so).

Analog devices application manual talks about this topic. you can find it in their website. Also, they have a lot of articles just o grounding..
