help with rechargeable flourescent lamp

have a rechargeable flourescent lamp ony 2 months since i purchase it. i suddenly noticed that it is not lighting whenever the curent goes off. dont know if it is not charging or if it is the bulb. can anyone say what may have gone wrong here.any clue or advice.

If you can, try to open it.
If you see some a relay try to connect make a test for it sfunctionality for NO current. Connect and disconnect the AC plug, this mimmics power failure, then try to listen if the relay clicks. if it click, it might be your battery is dead. to be sure, test first the battery if it has a charge.

be carefull when testing. you might touch some main lines...

Wel,, if it lights when there is AC power to it, then it cannot be the bulb. Clearly, it is not charging, or the batteries do not hold the charge anymore.
Either way, you have to disassemble it and see what's wrong. First, I would check the voltage on the batteries, with the lamp set to OFF, then to ON. If the voltage drops a lot, then the batteries are almost certainly bad.
But you should also check the voltage across the batteries when the AC is applied. CAREFUL!
If the voltage is not high enough, then you can suspect the charger or a dead cell in the batteries.

In most of the modern standby lamp, there is no relay for switching the power, the transistor will do that work.

But, firstly you should not open the lamp, as you just bought it for 2 months, just claim the vendor as he is responsible for that defect.

If you can open the lamp, in my opinion as per my experience in 2 cases, try to fix it yourself, it is easy and you will ensure what you have.

For my 2 cases, same sympton - dead batteries - for 2 lamps of different models but from the same manufacturer. Although the manufacturer is welknown, but the lamps are suck. The 6V-4.2Ah battery is always overcharged by the voltage of about 7.9V, while as you know for the standby system, battery should be charged by the voltage of about 2.25...2.3V per cell, or 6.8...6.9V for 6V batteries. The result is the battery dies quickly as we have a habit to plug the lamp into the mains all time 24/7.

So, I repaired the charger, and replaced the battery by myself, and the lamps have been in good condition.

just try to check the voltage of batteries, before and after being charged. if there's no effect of charging, clearly the batteries are the problems.
