hyperterminal serial port

Hi,

I am wanting to establish a virtual serial port connection between an 89c51 being emulated in Proteus and Hyper Terminal running in Windows.

How do I go about doing this ?

Thanks in advance

proteus serial port

I found a tool VIRTUAL TERMINAL in proteus.you can use this tool.

proteus hyperterminal

if you use two machines you need
a null serial cable {sometimes called a modem cable}

then connect two ports

to use hyperterminal you can also connect com 1 physical port to com2 physical port

set hypertermal to use only com 2
and the compim in isis only to use com1
1----2
tx->rx
rx<-tx
rst->cts
cts<rts
wire dtr to dsr on both plugs but not thru the cable

actually I was wanting to run Proteus and Hyperterminal on the same machine.
My idea was to establish some sort of a virtual serial port connection between them.

to use hyperterminal you can also connect com 1 physical port to com2 physical port

set hypertermal to use only com 2
and the compim in isis only to use com1

on same machine ?

proteus terminal

hi

Look at the reply above instead. The solution is there !

You need to replace Virtual Terminal with COMPIM (virtual COM interface). You must have 2 COMs free in your PC and a null modem cable (crossed).

Say you have COM1 and COM2 free. Connect the null modem between the two ports as a link and set COMPIM as the port COM1. Then use Windows Terminal (or whichever program you like) and set it as COM2. You'll see that any outputs that before were sent to the Virtual Terminal are now sent to Windows Terminal (or any other you may use).

Alternatively, if you don't have 2 physical COMs free then you may use some software driver, like Virtual Serial Ports Driver XP from https://www.eltima.com/products/vspdxp/

proteus virtual serial port

you hit the bull's eye.

just what i was wanting to do. But couldn't figure out how to do it.

Thanks, really.

proteus com port

No need to do the NULL MODEM if you have a VIRTUAL COM PORT PROGRAM..
I am using the software from Eltima software "VSPD XP 5.0"

if you read the my post carefully this is already stated in my post that if you do not have com port you can used virtual port driver VSPD XP
