hi!
I have the following problem:
I have a cylinder long of 2 m, diameter 0.5 m. 1m far from this cylinder (orthogonal) I want to simulate a wire in which flows 500 A , 50Hz, in order to see the field distribution on the cylinder.
Is it possible to simulate this wire? How can I charge it in such a way to have 500A?
Is it possible with CST or HFSS, or maybe another simulator?
Some ideas?
Thanks.
Hapciu.

Re: CST-wire simulation!

Your frequency is quite low
why do not considera low-frequency tool?

HFSS could not be suitable for such a simulation.

CST-wire simulation!

yes, for such very low frequency problems, you might want to consider Ansoft Maxwell or CST EM studio.

Anyway, you may want to try the frequency domain solver in CST, it might give you some results. but I never used it for such extremely low frequencies
