mini projects based on hdl

hi
i want mini project with details related to HDL language i.e either in VHDL or VERILOG with details.
pls anyone help me its urgent
 

try building a stopwatch .. or a digital watch ..
you can also build a calculator ..

say you decided to build a calculator :
1- you will need to build an adder, multiplier, subtractor, divisor .. etc.
2- you will need to run one of these operations once one enables it (by pushing the button).
3- you will need to have couple of registers to save the operands of any operation and the results.
4- you will need to write a 7-segment or LCD driver.

i guess this can be the simpliest start in HDL. Try to look at an existing calculator and take it as a reference .. don't implement the fancy stuff.
 

U can design a 4 bit Arithmatic Logic unit where u need to implement the logical operations and the arithmatic operations. U can even extend this by implementing floating pint operations also,it is upto u. I will try to find some material if ur interested in this.
 

the mini project can be designed in Altera Quartus II or EDWinXP etc
 

Also, traffic light can be good project

u try opencore site u will get some projects. tryout those projects
