Hi,
Is there any method to build wideband amplifeirs?
I have a course project about that.

wideband amplifier

u can try all kinds of feedback,
source degeneration,
negative cap,
shunt peaking, etc.

wideband amplifier

What's your opamp parameters,such as Gain,UGB ?
You can try it with folded cascode ota.

Re: wideband amplifier

hello
you can read about limiting amplifier,,, cheery hooper amplifier,,,you may find them in razavi book of optical communication,,,,,, you can use neutralization capacitances and inductive peaking,,,,,,i know a friend that build a limiting amplifier operate till 3 GHz with 40 dB gain using neutralization capacitance and PDK UMC 0.18,,,, also try cheery hooper,,it uses feedback which broaden the bandwidth

regards

wideband amplifier

negative cap is better than neutralization in bandwidth,
though they r somewhat similar.

Re: wideband amplifier

what the gain u needed and what is the bandwidth .

wideband amplifier

The low frequence gain can't be designed to be very high.

Re: wideband amplifier

Hi Huss,

I am doing limitting amplifier design and trting to extend bandwidth.
I tried neutralization cap, seems no help. Do you have your friend's circuit configuration so I can get some idea? Appreciate it.

Regards,

Wind
