How does the resolution of the pwm affect the application? lets say its for motor control, and also the frequency...

Question about PWM

I think your question is a little mixed up.
Would you describe it more?

For driving a motor with PWM first you must decide the frequency of PWM. And it depends on kind of motor you use for this.

After that you should find the minimum duty cycle of PWM that can drive the motor without a noise(sound).

And of course all of these is affected by the load of motor.

Re: Question about PWM

The frequency of the PWM absolutely affects the performance of the motor drive.
In general you can say, that the higher the frequency the better the motor control.
When the switching frequency of the PWM is lower the current through the motor is not so smooth, thus, the torque of the motor is n ot smooth as well.
