Hi,
i had installed ISE6.3i and EDK6.3i previously and both are running fine, now i installed ISE8.1i(in a different drive), ISE 6.3i runs fine, but my EDK6.3i doesnt start, when i start EDK, it gives the error "$Xilinx variable doesnt point to campatible version of ISE"(something like that), i checked it and found that $Xilinx points to 8.1i installation, i added the path to 6.3i installation but now the error is "the procedure entry point ?.......... could not be located in the dynamic link library libPortability.dll"
how to solve that :(

thanks
sawaak

edk 6.3i

i guess u should have only one version either 6.1 or 8.1....why have both when it gives errors

EDK 6.3i and ISE8.1i

I installed both ise7.1.4 (edk 7.1 with sp2) and ise 8.1 too .but my edk7.1 works fine.
you just need to charge your environment variable to d:\xilinx71 (my ise71 installed in this directory) when you want to use ise 7 or edk7 and change it back to d:\xilinx81(my ise8.1 installed in this directory) when another

Re: EDK 6.3i and ISE8.1i

Hi,
thanks Matrix_YL, your suggestion solves the problem, i made a mistake by APPENDING the ISE6.3i path with the ISE8.1i path, now i removed the ISE8.1i path and my EDK starts working. :)

thanks
