Mathematical puzzle: 2=3 !

The wrong line is the one with the equal sign on the left. Though that second line (chain of =) is true, it is not equal to the system in the line above it.

it's simple

sqrt( a ^ 2 ) = |a|

so

sqrt( (2-5/2)^2 )= |-1/2| = 1/2

and
sqrt( (3-5/2)^2 )= | 1/2 | = 1/2
