What is the partial stepping for stepping motor?

partial stepping

what does it mean by "partial stepping" for stepping motor?
i only know half stepping, full stepping, and microstepping..

Hi

Partial stepping is a group of microsteps. Normally a partial step equls to 3 microsteps.

thanks IanP,

based on your quote, and based on the sequence diagram of partial stepping taken from the thesis, it seems to me partial stepping in this thesis is the same as half-stepping.
