what is the main advantage of using BJT on CMOS and vis versa

cmos vs bjt

bjt is better than cmos in noise performance of the circuit

Added after 1 minutes:

cmos is better than bjt in integaration

bjt vs mos

This question has been asked several times in this forum. This is one of them.

bjt switching speed

for impedance purposes, cmos is useful..and for high speed switching BJT is useful

comparison between cmos and bjt

BJT is used for power aplicattions because it´s far superior than the MOS if we see them for apart, but the MOS is a lot times smaller than the BJT so it´s used for Very large scale integration or ultra large scale integration, and they can provide the same characteristics of a BJT in less space.

bjt advantages

cmos logic family is a low power consumption and bjt is high speed device.
mos family basically used in vlsi due to its less space occupency

cmos better than bjt

cmos: small size, high gain
bjt. big size, high power, good fre response

advantages of bjt

bjt is bipolar device
cmos is from mos family and its unipolar
bjt is current control device
cmos is voltage control device
bjt is used for high current application
cmos is used for high voltage
bjt has not high input impedance
cmos has high input impedace
bjt has some what more static power consumption
cmos has zero static power consumption prominient advantage

advantages of mos over bjt

One more property is the process of manufacturing

CMOS well perfected and easier

bjt gain vs cmos gain

I copy and paste the following definition from the forum.
Physically, BJT ==> diffusion current, MOS ==> drift if I may add...

Here are some comparison of BJT/CMOS and BiCMOS as well.

CMOS Vs BJT
=========
-Less power dissipation
-less noise margin
-better packing density
-ability to intergrate large and complex circuits and functions with high yield
-Good switch (in digital design)

BJT Vs CMOS
=========
-high switching speed
-high current drive per unit area
-analog capabilty on amplification
-better noise performance
-high speed intergration
-high transconductance thus will have higher gain.

BiCMOS Circuit Advantages
===================
-Improved speed over CMOS
-Lower power dissipation over BJT
-high performance analog
-Intergration flexibility
-latchup immunity
-high input impedance (CMOS)
-high gain (BJT)
-low noise (flicker noise)
-low input offset voltage for diff pair
-zero offset analog switches
-gain bandwidth product extended
-good voltage reference design

mosfet versus bjt in vlsi

there are many differences, and each devices have their advantage, but in general the bjt is faster than mosfet, but mosfet have a little power than bjt.
