Mobile phone antenna

How does a mobile phone antenna work/radiate? which are the wavelengths? What is the radiation pattern alike? What are the geometrical design parameters? Is there any link to a mobile phone antenna design? What is its geometry and why? Is there any simulation of a mobile phone antenna in Momentum, CST etc? (could you please post any screenshots on the simulation results)

I need it for a study at university. Thanks!

well~~i think you must look for many materials about microstrip antenna~there is one book named <<compact broadband antenna> ,it introduces many new structure on GPS,mobile phone usage~
but i lost the address....

Re: Mobile phone antenna

The length for design is usually quarter wavelength.

the pattern is normally omni-directional .

we usually use PIFA , heliex dipole , monopole, ceramic antenna .

you can search PIFA or monopole for reference.

Can you post the shape of the antenna? i see the radiation pattern but i cant see the geometry

Re: Mobile phone antenna

Please find the internal monopole antenna model built in CST in attachment
