How to draw copper rectangular patch on PowerPCB 5

how to draw rectangular copper

Hi, I have a question about how to use PowerPCB 5 to draw a copper patch (as an patch antenna) on the PCB. I am wondering can I just use "drafting"->"Copper" to draw it.

And I am a little confused about the terms "flood", "pour" and "hatch" (since I am not very familiar with the PCB technology)... Are they representing some fabrication procedures?

powerpcb + editing + pour outlines

u can use drafting copper to draw copper areas

FLOOD
Use the Flood tab in the Pour Manager dialog box to fill the area inside copper pour outlines with copper, represented by a hatched grid. Flood creates isolation areas around copper, traces, and pads that are inside the copper pour outline but are not part of the same net. It also creates thermal relief connections around pins that belong to the same net.

HATCH
Use the Hatch tab in the Pour Manager dialog box to fill in the hatch lines of previously flooded copper pour. You should perform a hatch after manually editing a previously flooded copper pour area. Because the hatch lines are not stored, you should also perform a hatch after opening a file.

Hi, v_kumar. After reading your reply, I think I understand a little more, So "flood" command can automatically create clearance around the pins, pads and trace in the "flood area", isn't it? But how about hatch? Is it just for display the "flood area"? Or it represents some other meaning in fabrication?
 

hatch:

when u flood the design and save it close the file.
and when u open the second time the flood area will show only the outline so, instead or reflooding it again u can u the hatch command to pour the area.

note:
when u do any changes to the flood area u have to repoor not hatch.
