Re: Ultra Wide Band Antenna

many UWB antennas working from 3.1G through 10.6G have been reported in the literature, you will find them in IEEE search.
good luck

Re: Ultra Wide Band Antenna

Normally, the printed monopole is the favorite candidate for the UWB antenna design. The spiral does not gain much attention for the distortion of the radiation pattern in the so large bandwidth. You can search UWB antenna in IEEE, and you can find there are so many papers on this hot topic. You can also refer to Dr. Z. N. Chen who have done lots of work on this topic.
Best Regards.

Ultra Wide Band Antenna

can i get a very compact directional antenna for frequency range 144-146 Mhz? may not be exact range but the range should include these frequencies

3.1 to 10.5GHz is one of the definitions for UWB antennas. Similary an antenna can also be reffered to be a UWB is the bandwidth spans more than 70% of the central frequency.

Re: Ultra Wide Band Antenna

Have you try bowties antenna with different shapes ?? They also have Ultra-WideBand characteristics

Re: Ultra Wide Band Antenna

Cst and Microwave office have really good examples
try them

Abstract
This paper introduces the concept of an electrically small two element antenna array that can provide unambiguous angle of arrival information for broadband or ultra-wideband (UWB) signals. Applications include interference mitigation, location awareness, and in a "spatial RAKE" receiver system.

Abstract
This paper provides an historical overview of ultra-wideband antennas presenting key advances at the root of modern designs

Re: Ultra Wide Band Antenna

Abstract
A new structure of coupled planar dipole ultra-wide-band antenna is presented. This low-profile design is mainly developed via a multi-band antenna concept plus general coupling equivalent circuit concepts of narrowband antenna analysis. The practical design work and analysis results are performed with Ansoft Design. The reliable full wave simulation analysis shows that this novel structure can easily realize a good linear variation for the sweep gain as well as frequency notched properties within a controllable bandwidth from 3 to 8 GHz

Re: Ultra Wide Band Antenna

Abstract
A simple method for designing of a compact planar antenna featuring ultra wideband performance and simultaneous signal rejection over a narrow sub-band is presented. This design is demonstrated when substrate is assumed in the form of Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic (LTCC). Results of simulations show that the designed antenna of 30mm*24mm dimensions supported by DuPont951 ground plane of lmm thickness has a 10-dB return loss bandwidth from 2.6GHz to more than 10GHz excluding the 4.9-5.9GHz rejection sub-band assigned for IEEE802.11a and HIPERLAN/2. This sub-band rejection is obtained using a tuning slot. The antenna has near omnidirectional characteristics. Its radiation efficiency is higher than 91% over the whole pass-band.
