Difference between Z-MOS and conventional N-MOS?

Hi Guyz,

What is the difference betwwen Z-MOS and conventional N-MOS? I saw in Bandgap reference circuit, there are using Z-MOS as a trimming transistor? Can anyone suggest good reference on this.

I guess if they are MOS zener zaps. Upload schematics
 

I don't think this is an integrated bandgap reference. As I know z-Mos is trade mark of ixysRF.

This mos as esp. low input-cap.

However, if z-mos is something other, please let me know.
 

Here's the schematic. The attached schematic is R2 for bandgap reference circuit. The formula to calculate is

Vbg = Vbe + M*Iptat*R2 = Vbe + M nKT/q ln(12) R2/R1

The resistor in the schematic is the term R2. As you can see Zmos is use for trimming purpose to adjust the final value of Vbg. My thought is Zmos is used to provide very low Rds during turn on as to bypass the resistors. But I still don't know the detail characteristic of that particular Zmos.

Pls give comment.

this nmos switch is for Trim circuit use ..
we usually use poly_fuse (someone use metal fuse) , when CP (wafer test )
we masure Vbg and use v > 5v poly_Res 70ohms and burn off poly_fuse ..

be careful in nmos switch "Rds on "
from circuit show L=1.4um ..usually we use Lmin .
but Hi-V cmos 12v Lmin close 1.2~ 1.4um
