Why DSP device's name is "digital signal processor controller",why add "controller"?

Why never "Digital Signal Processor"?

Remark:"digital signal processor controller" excerpt from TI Corp's datasheeet.

Well i think you are confused with the sentence of that TI Corp's datasheeet.

DSP means Digital Signal Processor or Digital Signal Processing depending upon the usage............
I think that may be a sentence like DSP controller ......i.e. cotroller used for/by DSP........... otherwise there is bothing wrong with abbreviation

Commonly used DSP refers to either Digital Signal Processor or Digital Signal Processing.

BTW, TI also produces Digital Signal Controllers besides Digital Signal Processors, not Digital Signal Processor Controller. You have to check again, perhaps you have seen it by mistake. Processor is a subset of a Controller architecture. Manufacturers will try not to confuse designers and certainly not putting Processor and Controller as one.
