deuterium

Can someone explain in simple words the meaning of "deuterium quintet".
Thanks.

deuterium

a fusion of five deuterium atoms

clear enough?

Re: deuterium

Fusion of 5 deuterium atoms looks like this:
5 H2 -------> He3 + He4 + H1 + 2 n1
(should be as H², He³ and so on ..)
A nice explenation of this reaction and its background can be found in Isaac Asimov's Understanding Physics: http://jolomo.net/fusion/asimov.html
