propic2 lpt spp

hi
i am trying to build Propic 2 programmer
but i have this problem
when i tried to solder the cable to the programmer connecter
i didnt know which wire i must solder
because the cable conten 19 wire
1-black
2-pink
3-blue
4-red
5-green
6-green with a white line
7-gray
8-orange
9-orange with white line
10-blue with white line
ext

so which wire i must choose

thanks for cooperation

programmer

U CAN DOWNLOAD IT FROM

Re: programmer

since you couldnt be bothered to post a direct link to the schematic, I will

**broken link removed**

But I dont see what your problem is? there are bright yellow tags telling you what goes where, could you explain in more detail what part of it you dont understand.

programmer

my problem is
i have LPT cable and i cut its terminal to solder
to the programmer connecter
but i dont know which wire i must sold
because there is many wires as i said in the first post
orange wire and orange wire with white line
so which one i must choose

thanks for ur care

Re: programmer

don't pay attention the cable colour, but number of pin DB9, become to labour each DB9 jointed by cable with same pin number, for cable colour on your choose.

programmer

Trace the pin number on each wire, it is the best thing to do, it is hard to rely cabling on colors if you are not the one who created color coding for cabling or if the standard for the coding is not known.

Re: programmer

hai

dont play with cable
parellel port cables are available in the readymade
just u can buy and use it

programmer

hi
iam sorry but u didnt understand my problem
i will explain the problem in another way

To Build The propic2 Programmer we need 2 things
1- The schematic u can download it from the link befor and then assembled it

2- the cable :
from PC side it s 25 PIN LPT cable
and from the programmer side its 9 pin HERE IS THE PROBLEM
is this cable avilable to buy it ?????????

AND if not we must to build it so u must do the following
1- buy LPT cable Likethe one of old printer cable
2- the cable has two terminals male and famale
the male side its for the Pc connecter
and the famle side u must cut this terminal and so u will find 19 wire
3- buy db9 connecter male and female
the female its for the programmer card
and the male u must solder it to the LPT cable
SO HERE IS THE PROBLEM :::::::;
Which wire from the 19 i must solder to db9 connecter

i hope u now understand my problem
thanx

programmer

the 9 pin connector is a serial connector, not parallel, do now understand your problem, but unfortunately cant answer it, I cant wee whi womeone would design a circuit for use in an lpt port and then use a db9, maybe i'm missing something but theres not a lot of info on their site, perhaps mail them ?

Re: programmer

see 25 PIN LPT cable description

see your schematics DB9 Female section,i think:
D0-2-1 means: data bit 0 ---- PIN 2 on 25 PIN LPT cable DB25 connector---- PIN 1 on Your programmers DB9 Female connector

and so on

see file it helps you

programmer

hi eggplant

this programmer use lpt com
u can know that if u use icprog
when u make configuration of the icprog
to use this programmer it will use lpt

Re: programmer

Check your LPT cable, where cable color connected to DB25.
example blue connected to pin 1 DB25, black -> pin 2, etc.

If you have color code to pin DB 25, like defnfo say:
look your schema DB9 section

pin 1 DB9 -> D0 pin 2 DB25
pin 2 DB9 -> D2 pin 3 DB25
pin 3 DB9 -> D3 pin 4 DB25
pin 4 DB9 -> D4 pin 5 DB25
pin 5 DB9 -> D5 pin 6 DB25
etc...

And connected your cable color, so connection cabel like this..

Re: programmer

hai
what defnfo told is correct
in the schematic the cable connection is like this

D0-3-4
in that 3 is serial port
4 is for parellel connection
thats it
