Hi,

I have a 80 GHz differential Colpitt oscillator with a wide tuning range. I use ADS HB oscillator analysis to simulate the oscillator (with Osc2 Port).

Now I want to simulate the injection locking phenomena. Injected signal frequency will be close to the free running frequency of the oscillator.

My question are

1) When oscillator will be driven externally via injection signal, to my understanding I can't use HB oscillator analysis via Osc port. Am I right ?

2) How can I simulate the locking range in this way via HB. (If injected signal is very weak then there should be two signals, 1- Osc Signal 2- Weak Injected Signal and their mixing products.

Im short, How to simulate Injection locking oscillator in ADS ?? :bang:

Thanks.

Dear Ghurki,

I ever simulated the injection locking effect in ADS for my resonant tunneling diode (RTD) oscillator. It worked very well. In this situation HB is not suitable for this phenomenon (your 1st question is correct), instead you should use Transient analysis then using function fs for the Fourier transform to frequency domain (you can observe mixing signals depending on the injected power as your 2nd question).

Hope this helps.
