pcf8583 circuit

after i writing pcf8583 rtc information changes by power supply spikes. but i also use battery backup. how can i prevent this?

pcf8583 battery

I would first check the battery backup circuit. It should not allow the supply voltage to drop below about 2V.
You can also try a larger cap on the supply pins of the PCF8583.

maybe u can use a larg capacitor on Vcc_Gnd of your RTC and a suppressor on ac side of power supply.

pcf8583 no battery

I always use this circuit for power supply of PCF8583 and I never have problem. Diodes should be schotkey, capacitors eg. 100uF (electrolitic) and 100nF (ceramic).

Do you use proper CMOS RAM/RTC voltage monitor ICs?
Try DS1210 from Maxim: **broken link removed**
(free samples)
No caps, diodes, ..., nothing ..

2:22 time strange

thanks for replies.

most reading problems solved, but still this problem occurs time to time.
then i changed the part pcf8583, now i'm using ds1307.
with ds1307 everything goes properly. no problem since 10 days.
