Between two approaches for impedance matching (minimum reflection or maximum power tranfser) which of them can result in more gain in an antenna?
 

Theorecticaly you should end up at the same tuning. It all depends on what kit you have to hand. I think the most sensitive way is to minimise the reflected power, but that depends on your driving power. In the end if you transmit 99 or 98% of your power it makes no difference at the receiving end. However a doubling of the reflected power could easily damage a high power transmitter.
