I have a PC & I frequently have a popup appear offering me a free upgrade to Windows 10.

It appears to be from Microsoft, but I'm dubious.

Does anyone have W10, if so do you like it?

Has anyone downloaded the free W10 & if so, is it genuine?

Any replies will be appreciated.

It is most probably genuine. That's how it works. Microsoft have been 'forcing' the upgrade on to lots of PCs that have auto-update enabled. A lot of people have been upgraded without even wanting to be, and a lot have tried to stop the upgrade mid-way only to have their PC rendered unusable and requiring a complete reinstall.

Personally, I will never allow Windows 10 into my house. There is too much that Microsoft now think they have a right to collect from your PC. Do some searches on Windows 10 Telemetry and you will see what I mean.

That said, some people seem to like it and aren't bothered that Microsoft claims the right to collect any and all data from your PC and use it as they see fit (yes, that is really what the Windows 10 T&C means).

Also the "feature" of windows 10 devices being able to automatically allow the users "friends" on skype, outlook.com and facebook access to whatever wifi networks the device is connected to. Your cousin needs to use your wifi with his windows 10 device for half an hour? it might give all his friends access as well.

I'm astounded that Microsoft thought this was a good idea.

I would not upgrade to Windows 10 if I were running Windows 7, but I would if I were running Windows 8.x
Make sure that the internet is on when you upgrade otherwise Windows 10 will be not genuine.
