Halfcycle path helps hold or setup? and why?
 

Half cycle reduces the time required for data to be stable before data is latched. So, it put more constraint on the setup.
 
Yes, in a single cycle path, hold is check between same clock edge from launching flop to capturing flop. In half cycle, hold timing check is relaxed by extra half cycle compare to single cycle path.
