what is I2C and its purpose and its application

You just need to google ' I2C' loads of info out there

Same with Proteus, simply look in the Instruments

Try to interface DS1307 RTC with any micro controller with built in i2c such as PIC16f877a in proteus. Read the datasheets,
you should get everything about I2C..
 
I2C is a 2 wire bus used for inside board communications for more than 1 master and upto 128 slaves.

Any IC having I2C interface can connected parallely.
