Dear all
Salaam

I want to choose a SPI Flash memory for my new design. I used to apply Atmel DataFlash in my design till now but i have just noticed that Atmel discontinued the flash memory and eliminated the product from its web site. Could anyone please offer me any other SPI flash memory which is well-known and popular between the designers?

Thanks in Advance.
Oveis.

I think i would not need more than 16MByte SPI flash memory. Have you any suggestion?

I used some years ago a SPI memory from 25Cxx type that is not exactly FLASH, but EEPROM.
There are many manufacturers for this kind of memory, and you can select data size accordingly:

I think these are obsolete products. Aren't they?

You can try this one, **broken link removed** GD25Q16B, SPI NOR Flash

if u are going to use SPI protocol and your requirement is also large storage space then u can think about SD-CARD as a option if you don't have compulsory to use EEPROM.

Dear Embpic, I prefer to use a memory chip that is permanently on board. SD card is a good choice but it is plug-able and it may be removed from the board.

I think 16 MB memory is enough and it will be good to buy this flash memory. I have also 16 MB flash memory and i am happy with it.

Are GigaDevice products good and valuable memories? Do they work through declared specifications well?
