hi sankurathri,
i import the dxf for my design. Dxf came out of PCB how to set the origin for dxf or is i need to move board shape or is i need to move DXF

You can redefine the board shape based on our DXF file. Select the required board outlines in the DXF file, then select "Design » Board Shape » Define from selected objects" . It will shape and place the board onto your DXf file.

To change the routing layers, use the + and - keys in the numeric keypad while routing.

is i need to draw board outline over the dxf ??

both are same thread only reply for that also

Select the board enclosing lines in the DXF file and run " Define from selected objects".
Refer **broken link removed** for details

Tip for Altium,
Almost everything is in the menus, and almost everything has a keyboard shortcut that can be discovered from the menus, for example (AD14) to select all the connected copper on a single layer belonging to a given net, select the net then Edit (E), select connected copper (S), single layer (S), the keyboard shortcut is E-S-S.

The menus really do make the keyboard shortcuts easy to discover, and the shortcuts are very much worth learning (they make layout **MUCH** faster).

In the DXF file, your board outline lies in layer mechanical 1.
So select mechanical1 and then Edit->Select->All on layer (Shortcut S for select menu) which selects everything on mechanical1 and then you can run command define boardshape from selected objects.
You can also do like this. Select mech1 and press Shift+S (Which masks all layers except mech1). Then select the board outlines (In your case you can select all on mech1 by Ctrl+A since you don't have anything else on mech1 outside the board outlines). Then define board shape.

You can mail me at techgreed@outlook.com . Iam also new to this world but can help you in things i know :)

Here is the attached file.

Hi,
is i need to assign the board outline in one layer (Mechanical only right) ??
How to change the layer type after imported DXF ?? i want to select the all the line and curve
is it possible to add curve in edge of board outline ??

The board outlines has to be on the same layer. Its not a must that it has to be on a mechanical layer(Normally its mechanical layer always).

To change the layer of any object, double click it, which opens a sub-window. There you will find the option to change the layer.
If you have multiple lines/objects for which layer has to be changed, its better to use PCBInspector. Select the lines you want to change and then press key F11. This opens PCBInspector window which shows the properties of the selected objects. Then you can make the changes.

Hi udhay,
thanks for your help.let me know how to change title block in altium schematic ?? i saw some video through that only i am learning but small things i could not clear it will take time

i believe you are talking about "Document parameter". You can access from schematic sheet "Design>Document options> Document Parameters" (Short cut is "O>T")& fill the required fields. You can insert your logo by using "Place> Drawing Tolls> Graphic".
