I think it terms for using in photovoltic mode.
in which there is zero reverse bias applied to photo diode for producing voltages rather than reverse current.
I believe they are intended for current mode use but with no reverse bias voltage. Often photodiodes are reverse biased and used as a current source for speed but large area photodiodes can have a high leakage at anything other than zero reverse bias so you don't reverse bias the but still use them as a current source. I have done that in the past for fluoroscopy with 25mm square photodiodes. Look at the reverse current versus voltage graphs and you should get the idea.

I've looked for the ND filter and found that it is a neutral density filter used a lot in photography to attenuate the whole spectrum evenly.
I am a little bit unsure of the refl. graph. Is it refering to reflective ND filter? I what I read is the that refl nd filter is a mild version of ND filter..
