Maximum current through berg connector

Hi,
I want to pass some 9A of current through a berg connector. The maximum current which can be passed per pin is 3A as per the manufacturer. So i know if i give 9A through it, the connector will burn.

So want to know if i short three pins of both male and female, will it can able to carry 9A of current or will it burn?

shorting it will work for you. its like normal electricity wire that we use at home. For more current you'll see thick wires. Those thick wires are nothing but more number of strands connected together.
As your manufacturer defines that maximum current through a berg is 3A, for 9A i would suggest you to use 4 pins i.e. not to use maximum capacity. because at maximum capacity your berg will be heated up too much.

Yes I have done it a few times.
If you want to read more about this, read about litz wire. they also work on same principle. Generally for high frequency transformer, due to skin effect, you cannot use a thick wire, so what they do is combine a few insulated wires in parallel to carry the load current.
