Oops! (And notice that I transcribed the error too... [facepalm])
The current Is is drawn the *wrong way* in both your image and my analysis... it should flow in the opposite direction to that shown. i.e. the diode is operated reverse biased (photoconductive mode), and conducts a *reverse* current proportional to the incident photointensity.
There! That makes the sign convention consistent and ensures Kirchoff's law is satisfied at the op-amp's "-" input :)
