DC link voltage for DC-AC Inverter

Hi,

I'm currently building a DC-AC Inverter! At the output i nid 50Hz 230V single phase. I would like to find out wad is the required input DC voltage for my DC-AC Inverter.

I am basically using a typical single phase full bridge inverter with 4 IGBT switches.

normally used is 12vdc input, if you go to electrical shop, usually they selling 12vdc as the input
 

Presuming you are designing a true sine inverter, the DC link voltage would be obviously √2*230 + 2*Vce,sat. It's lower for square or modified square wave.

For a sine wave inverter, the DC link voltage would usually be about 330V to 340V - see FvM's post above.

For a square wave inverter, the DC link voltage would be about 240V.

For a quasi-sine wave inverter, it would depend on the "duty cycle".
