need help on microcontroller and lcd module.....

i have a problem.... and need an opinion, an example or anything information that can help to solve my problem....
my question is how to programme lcd module using microcontroller????
basically i use assembly languange for my project
i use microcontroller motorola MC68HC11E1
lcd module Tranma Alphanumeric dot metrix liquid crystal displays without backlighting, 14 pins, for example....RS stock numbers 184-8538
the lcd data sheet can be found at the www.rsmalaysia.com
this project very important for my final year study....
so plz i beg u all help me!!!!!

I did NOT look up your LCD , but assumes it is "Hitachi HD44780" compatible , most characterbased LCD displays are.

I will leave the challenge of interfacing to the HC11 up to you.

But it might be a good idea to use "HD44780" as one of the google parameters , it should ensure lots of hits (also for the hw. connection).

Btw: Pay attention to the initialization routine if you choose to tun in 4-bit mode , that is the only pitfall in 4bit vs 8bit mode.

Hmmm.. Are you sure the Lcd name isnt TIANMA ??

I did a search on google , for "Tranma lcd" and there was only one hit.

You should still read the DS and find out if ots a HD44780 compatible controller that is on. (Lots of controllers are 44780 compatible , even though they are named something else".

I would still expect it might be Tianma.
