helllo i have KBL407 bridge rectifer ... it has a capability of max 4 ampare.. i want to ask a question if i rectify 220 volts ac and get 220 volts DC and apply a load which has a very low resistance just 2 ohm then the maximum current flow from this rectifre will be 4 ampere or more.. because datasheet says it can handle max 4 ampere... kindly guide me thanks :)
 

No, two mistakes:

If you rectify 220V AC, you get about 310V DC.
If you apply 310V DC to a 2 Ohm load, the current will be 310/2 = 155 amps.

Your rectifier will burn because it is only rated for 4 amps.
 
300ms is a lot of time. It's 15 complete cycles. The rectifier will probably burn. Compare 155A vs the rated 4A.

To limit current, you must increase output resistance. If you use 100 ohms, current will be 3.1A (assuming you have an output capacitance connected). And so on.

It would help to know what load you are using that has 2 ohm resistance and why you are applying the high voltage to it.

If you don't want change your load , and you have to use 2 ohms , the best solution will be a simple hiccup current limiter .
