Dear Sir:
I am trying to simulate an anntena, but I need two wave port to input.
I am not sure how to define two input port at the same time. I just chose both two retangular ports and define them as wave port1. But when running the simulation, the the system said as follow:
[error] Port refinement, process abc3d died unexpectedly. (12:00 PM Oct 25, 2004)
[warning] Warning - Boundary 'PerfE1', Boundary 'WavePort1' : Boundaries overlap. (11:56 AM Oct 25, 2004)

And also I donot know which size I need to define a outer radiation box?I think it should relate to the annten radius.(my antenna is circule)
Could you help me?
Thank you very much!!

hi
error is not because of defining two ports at the same time. for my coupler, I defined 4 ports. however, type of the port may change the way you should define the ports. as an example, for a coax, you should define bottom faces of the outer and inner parts as a wave port.
when you define radiation boundary, choose 5 faces of the air box and assign it as a radiation boundary, sixth face is the one just below the antenna.
If you send your design, it may easier to comment.

I suspect you didnt correctly set the port, which kind of ports are you using? Waveport, I assumed. To define a waveport, you must have a rectangular or circular (even more complex) planar shape object. You can assign this object to exciation- waveports. But, keep in mind, this port must physically support the connect, the excitation(including the ground and the trace). For example, microstrip line, the rectangular box must touch ground plane.

HFSS provides a simple mode, terminal mode, you can choose HFSS->solution type->Driven terminal.
Then, you will find it is easy to define port, and it will be faster than before when simulating.
